November Challenges
In October, I participated in 2Pointober, hosted by Viva Carlos and Equestrian at Hart. This is the first year I’ve actually managed to remind myself to enter, rather than belatedly realizing that oh yeah, I kind of wanted to do that, too late now. Acquired a baseline of 1min at Quicksilver (woo, timing 2-point during a ride in the Thorowgood on a very fresh horse!), finished up the month with a time of 40m38s. Many things hurt. Cannot recommend. Oddly enough, an earlier ride of 35m or so was significantly less difficult: maybe my running shoes absorb the impact better? Maybe I was riding better that day? On Saturday, everything started hurting by about five minutes in. I clearly overdid it somewhere and woke up today with a migraine.
November has NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo and No Stirrup November. In the spirit of trying to set attainable goals, I’m opting out of all of those. I’ll be aiming to post three times a week through the end of the month. My head is in a much better place than it’s been in several years. I’m not fighting with Blogger. I need to learn how to tweak WordPress to my liking. I actually have blog posts spinning in the back of my head that have been waiting around for a few weeks! I think this will be good for me, and a good way to combat the doldrums that come with the time change every year.
